ARTIST: HANDS LIKE HOUSES
Rise Records have many bands on their bill and Australian act Hands Like Houses are one of them. And their new record Dissonants proves that they’ve earned their place among the crop. The opus is atmospheric and highly charged, bubbling with intensity and lyrical swagger, pushing emotiveness to the forefront. The crashing guitar sounds and thundering vocals intertwine expertly on the album, naturally combining emotional bellows with infectious instrumentals. There are also pleas evident, churned out and made to provoke a response. And opening track I Am showcases this. It pierces the norm with its blistering pace and loudness. It is also a memorable stab a rock, that also focuses on sorrow laden poetry.
