It’s no secret that SounCloud saw major redundancies made recently. WeTransfer president, Damian Bradfield, is now offering a $10,000 grant to those who were let go as part of an undergoing project to design a new service.

In an email titled “Please, don’t get a job,” Bradfield states that “What we would like to see is a proposal for something you could design, build or manage that could be the new mail-order record club, SoundCloud or iTunes. We aren’t a bank or a VC. We don’t want equity or thanks. We’d just like to ensure good talent doesn’t go to waste.”

The main requirement is that any applicant is one of the recently redundant employees of SoundCloud, and the grant will only be gifted to applicants of proposals that “must be music-related and cannot be copies/white labels or versions of existing music offerings.”

Bradfield was determined to make it clear that he doesn’t want to “put SoundCloud out of business. We very much hope SoundCloud bounces back and continues to grow.”
