The latest victim of cancellation due to the health concerns over coronavirus is a big one, and has shaken the UK. The world famous GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL has confirmed they are cancelling their upcoming event in June this year.

Hoping to celebrate their 50th anniversary this summer, the festival put out a statement on social media with the caption: “We are so sorry to announce this, but we are going to have to cancel Glastonbury 2020. Tickets for this year will roll over to next year. Full statement below and on our website.

The runners confirmed that the early cancellation out of concerns with public health comes from wanting to prevent their buyers from being charged further, in case the event had to be postponed later and more people were out of money. They even stated that people have the chance to “roll over” their ticket deposit to guarantee them a ticket for the 2021 festival!

With all the postponements and cancellations recently, it can be disheartening but it won’t be forever. Live entertainment will return, and it will be glorious!
