The beautiful picturesque 2000Trees Festival is back. Here is our sub-editor’s brief rundown of some of the cool things you can check out over the course of the weekend…
What would any 2000 Trees be like without Jamie Lenman? Luckily you’ll get to see him play two sets on the Thursday, opening up the Lenmania stage with an acoustic set and headlining in traditional Lenman style – HEAVY! Be sure to catch Fuzz Punks Sœur on opening up The Cave, and Haggard Cat straight after. Both are incredible live acts that will open up your festival with a bang. For all you Hardcore fans, Turnstile will tear up the main stage in the evening, and it is not a set you will want to miss. Get to the Neu Stage to catch Novacub and LIFE to discover your new favourite bands. Petrol Girls on The Cave will tire you out plenty before seeing some of the best Metalcore in the UK from Sheffield lads, While She Sleeps
British Rock legends You Me At Six are a must see this weekend headlining the Main Stage, however with Frank Turner’s Hardcore project Mongol Hörde heading up The Axiom, it will be a tough call for who to pick. The Neu Stage has an incredible lineup with Allusinlove, Heavy Lungs and Indoor Pets taking the top three spots and all are bands you will want to see! With Gouge Away, Drug Church, ANGEL DU$T, Dream State and Pulled Apart By Horses all performing on the Friday, this day is guaranteed to be a barrage of the best and brightest bands out there right now!
Some of the best new discoveries of the festival are to be found on the Saturday. Crack open a can of Cleopatrick and wash that down with some False Heads to kickstart the final day of Trees. Dune Rats, Delaire The Liar and Single Mothers are also sure to put on some of the most memorable sets of the festival. Playing the legends slot on the Main Stage, A will bring the nostalgia from the mid-2000’s. Frank Iero and the Future Violents will be sure to satisfy any cravings for punk you have left over from Trees veterans, The St. Pierre Snake Invasion to close out probably the best weekend of the year!
