British pop punk seems to be growing at a steady pace, and while it means we are now surrounded by the sub genre, luckily Liverpool’s OVERSET seems to be making their own waves.

With the track, Exit Road, having been taken from the band’s newest EP, Waiting For The Rain To Stop, vocalist Timmy Johnston further explains the narrative behind the track.

“Writing this song came at a time when I had some real internal struggles going on in my life and it was the product of some very unfortunate news and already existing mental health issues. The outlet this band has given me and the friends that have come along with it have helped me beyond belief.” He continues. “The song is about how people can look completely fine on the outside and be going through hell on the inside. It’s about being told you can’t do something because of your position and the options you’ve been given. It’s about that feeling when one bad thing after another knocks you down to the point where it feels like there’s no coming back.

Fortunately, these feelings don’t last forever and it does get better.”

WAITING FOR THE RAIN TO STOP IS OUT NOW.
