A study conducted back in 2015 has highlighted personality profiles around fans of bands. The study looks at personality profiles of people with specific focus on patterns of behaviour and the music the subjects are fans of.
The study has resurfaced as a result of an investigation by The New York Times, which has exposed Cambridge Analytica for harvesting and data mining profiles of millions of Facebook users and using this information to sway and influence people around the 2016 American election. Yeah, not great. Pretty terrible actually.
Among the findings, it appears that fans of Bring Me The Horizon, Escape The Fate, Marilyn Manson and the TV show Adventure Time are ‘the most neurotic.’
The study also found that fans of Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson and Rammstein are ‘the least agreeable,’ although there may be some other fanbases that we personally find a bit more difficult to get along with. But hey, we’re not the psychologists here.
Better news however, if you’re a fan of Relient K, you’re considered to be ‘the most agreeable.’ So there’s that!
