FROM: SHEFFIELD | FOR FANS OF: KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES, DECADE

It’s 2018, and we’re enjoying all of the gifts that it has given us. Then last year a band called Your Life & Mine released an EP that sounds like it came straight out of 2010, when bands like Young Guns, Kids in Glass Houses and Deaf Havana ruled the roost. They’ve captured it perfectly, with a tetralogy of songs that sound, in their own words, ‘energetic, anthemic, chunky but funky.’

“OUR SOUND IS CHUNKY BUT FUNKY…”

Your Life and Mine are a reinvention and a name change of the same member’s first band, as vocalist Bill says, ‘we wanted our music to reflect who we are. We felt that the transition wasn’t just our sound but also our Image and that we wanted these to work hand in hand. Rebranding felt like the best way to show our intentions to progress.’

” ‘we wanted our music to reflect who we are.”

When asked about the sound that they have, and why they chose it there’s a surprisingly simple answer behind it, ‘It just came naturally to us,’ Bill laughs. ‘I don’t think we have ever gone into a writing session thinking “right I want a song in this sort of style,” we just jam out ideas. We do take inspiration from our own personal heroes which is one of the main things that makes our sound what it is.’

Further into 2018, what can we expect from Your Life and Mine though? ‘We are ready to release our best material yet, expect new videos, new merch and expect to see us in a Wetherspoon’s near you.’
