TITLE: DEAR SEATTLE
A solid first attempt from Aussie Alt-rockers, this self-titled debut is a cool blend of atmospheric guitars, serene vocals and lyrical depression. Opener ‘The Things You Do’ will make you instantly fall in love with a band who mince their words as little as they do their riffs. ‘The Meadows’ is the highlight of the whole piece, a grunge laden masterpiece that would put Nirvana to shame. It’s refreshing, angry and unashamedly poignant. It’s also good to see an Australian band hone an emo, grunge infused sound whilst their contemporaries pursue, painfully generic, metalcore adventures.
Dear Seattle is a bold and strong effort. If you’re a fan on acts like The Smith Street Band, then Dear Seattle are a band worth keeping and eye on.
